Why write?

Just because you don't say anything doesn't mean you don't have anything to say. So, just say it. Write, tell. Writing is a process. You have a thought, an idea and you start writing it down. In the process of writing, the initial thought gets refined and transformed, new thoughts are generated. At the end, what you wrote very likely will not resemble the initial thought. Also, you become a better individual as a result of now having a more cogent set of thoughts. Writing takes time because in the process of writing you are having a conversation with yourself. You learn to listen to yourself, you learn to criticize yourself, you learn to appreciate yourself. You learn to love yourself.

Newgem

Everyone feels guilty at times. So, it must have been a trait spread by natural selection. If you are in a dangerous zone (say, tigers roam around), you decide to get the hell out of there. But, a day has passed, you are still there. If you start feeling guilty, you may take action now to leave and if you do that will save your life. If you don't feel guilty, you may just continue to hang around and eventually eaten by a tiger. So, it looks like guilt is a good trait, right? Also, there is a conception that if it a trait selected by nature, it must be a good one. Wrong. Nature doesn't produce traits. Traits happen randomly caused by genetic mutations. Nature just acts to weed out the weaker and select the stronger among them. Suppose we had developed instead of guilt a new different trait - let us call it "newgem" - that forced us in the morning as soon as we wake up to take stock of where we are at that moment and then chalk out the action for just that day and star

Bikram Yoga

On Jan, 6th 2013, I and my wife started Bikram Yoga prodded for sometime by Neeraja. I have attended Yoga classes every day this first week. It is 90-minute long and is conducted in a room where 105 deg F temperature is maintained. The yoga involves 26 poses. These are tough. Week of 1-6-2013: 7 days Week of 1-13-2013: 7 days Cumulative=14 days   1-20-13: I am gaining weight. My eating has remained the same. Obviously, Bikram is affecting in some way. I am hoping that it is increasing my lean mass and reducing fat mass. The amount of strength increasing postures is great in Bikram. Yesterday (1/19/13), I was dead tired after Bikram. It felt as if 14 days of yoga without a break was taking its toll. Week of 1-20-2013: 7 days 21 days My weight is stabilizing. Gaining phenomenal strength. Knee pain and all pains are gone! 100%. My 30-day reduced rate will end soon. Is thinking of signing up for entire year. Week of 1-27-2013: 7 days  Cumulative=28 days Week of 2-3-2013
